Portland lost editor Brian Doyle in 2017, and designer Joe Erceg in 2018, bringing about a reverent pause in its publication. After hiring new editor Jessica Murphy Moo—most recently from Seattle Opera—and contracting a redesign by higher education media firm Zehno, UP brought me on to design the first post-hiatus issue. Forty-eight pages and lots of deep conversations about content, representation, reverance and levity later, we sent out this beauty.

OEC's 50th anniversary celebration came around at a time when environmentalists felt defeated because of national and global setbacks. OEC saw this as an opportunity to encourage all OEC supporters—from original members to younger, energized millennials—that positive change was still possible, because they'd already come so far. OEC developed the name, tagline and a loose look for the event, and I did the rest. The highlight was a 16-page ‘zine invitation to highlight all they’ve accomplished in 50 years. I also created some auxiliary pieces and led their internal designer to execute environmental graphics for the big night.

In 2015, I opened a coworking space in my neighborhood of Kenton. My dream was to have a space within walking distance to work. After having coworked elsewhere, I knew I wanted to share that space with others. I developed the business plan, secured the lease and furnished the space. I came up with the name, logo, and branding. Since its creation, Pep has had 30 members representing a broad range of professions, and it's exposed me to the most diverse group of people I've ever known. I'm so proud of it. Check it out here.
My friend wanted a custom kit for 2017 Ironman Florida, and I happily obliged. I started with loose marker drawings, and I finessed the design and added color in Illustrator.

Development of visual concept for WWII based on the use of photomontage, a method of creating an image using multiple images, color overlays, and/or typography, popular in the early- to mid-1900s
